Qatar posted the first win at the Fiba Asia Cup in Tokyo. They held off India to improve at 1-1 record in Group B. Mohammed Yousef (204-C-82) scored 13 points to lead the winners.
Qatar limited India to just 6 points in the starting quarter and gained a 9-point lead. India did not allow their opponents to clear off in the second quarter. India cut the deficit at 6-point mark at the interval 25:31. Qatar increased the tempo in the third term. They capitalized firing 27 points and opening a 14-point advantage at the final break. Qatar did not look in the fourth quarter and rallied to the victory. Omar Abdelkader (206-C-83) posted 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Yasseen Ismail (204-F/C-80) added 12 points for Qatar. Narender Kumar (195-G/F-88) and Pethani Rikin (206-C-90) answered with 14 points each for India.

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in D1. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#2) and Al Rayyan (#4). Al Gharafa (16-1) smashed visiting Al Rayyan (11-6) by 20 points 102-82. The game was mostly controlled by Al Gharafa. Al Rayyan managed to win second period 24-20.
