Qatar defeated Bahrain 66-30 to clinch the basketball title in the GCC Womens Games in Manama on Sunday.
Qatar won the gold with one round to spare as they topped the tournament with eight points from four matches, leaving Bahrain in second place with five points and a no-bearing game in hand against Kuwait.

Qatar defeated Bahrain 66-30 to clinch the basketball title in the GCC Womens Games in Manama on Sunday.
Qatar won the gold with one round to spare as they topped the tournament with eight points from four matches, leaving Bahrain in second place with five points and a no-bearing game in hand against Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Bahrain took all three podium places in the bowling singles event.
Former Arab champion Noora Sultan put on a solid performance to clinch the title with 1,221 points, finishing ahead of fellow Bahraini Yasmine Akeel (1,066) who came second.
Bahrains Fatma Janahi (1,049) rounded off the top three, much to the joy of a full-house home crowd and a proud team coach Abdullatif al-Dalhan.
Sixteen players from four GCC countries Kuwait, the UAE, Oman and Bahrain each played six games to determine the overall champion with highest number of points.
And it was the Bahraini bowlers who dominated the show, with three of its four entrants topping the competition.
Yesterdays programme also featured three more sports competitions, as Bahrain took seven medals on the athletics for the disabled first day.
Khalifa Sports City track hosted seven competitions in total, in which Bahrain took two gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
Latifa al-Shamri opened Bahrains account, taking home the javelin throw (F37, 600 grams) gold medal. She was followed by compatriot Zahra Abdulla in second place.
Bahrains Fatma Safar then topped the discus throw (F35-54) category, finishing ahead of Omans Shaikha bint Abdulla and third Iman Khalid of Bahrain.
In the other discus throw (F55) contest, Omani Rayan bint Khalid bagged the gold medal, with the bronze going out to Bahrains Roya Yousef and Amal Fardan, respectively.
The UAE athletes dominated the remaining four competitions as Mahra al-Kaabi (17.44 sec) proved too strong for Bahraini Shaikha al-Haiki (20.29) and Qatars Noaf al-Kubaisi (22.07) in the 100m race.
Aisha al-Khaldi (F32-33), Thuraya al-Zaabi (F34) and Seham al-Rashidi (F56-57-58) were also in command in their respective shot put events, giving three more medals to the Emirates.
Bahrain pulled off another success on the second day of taekwondo at Isa Sports Citys Bahrain Table Tennis Association gym, clinching three out of four gold medals.
Bahrains Kaltham Jassim, Ola al-Dossary and Aisha Abdulla bagged the 57kg, 67kg and 74kg gold medals, respectively, while the remaining under-47kg weight category was won by Qatari Kaltham al-Mutawa.

Qatar Team became the first Women's League champions. They clinched the title in the inaugural season of the League. Qatar Team overcame Go Sport Fear in the championship game 38:35. Amal Mohamed (C-86) produced 13 points to lead the winners. Warda Mohammed (F-87) accounted for 10 points for Qatar Team. Ranin Peters answered with 15 points for Go Sports Fear.

THE Second edition of the Womens Basketball League got underway in thrilling fashion with Al Hidd edging Goys Talents team 38-37.
The league opener, held at the Zain Basketball Arena in Um Al Hassam, was a well-contested battle affairs between the two team looking for the full two points.
And it was decided in the very last seconds when Mouza Salem Al Mansoori scored a crucial two-pointer to help Al Hidd take over the lead from Goys Talents in an action-packed opener.
In the 10-minute first quarter, both teams played a neck-and-neck game, but eventually it was Goys Talents players who ended the quarter in their favour with a slender 7-5 advantage.
Al Hidd returned the game later on and managed to level the scores at 14-14 at half-time.
Scores were tight in the third quarter, but at the end Al Hidd girls capitalised on their counter attacks to take a three-point lead of 27-24.
The Goys Talents put on a brave show in the fourth and last quarter, during which they turned the tables on their opponents in the closing stages for a 37-36 lead.
However, Mouza rose up to finish off a quick counter attack with a successful throw, giving Al Hidd the full two points and a flaying start to the competition.
Mouza was also the top scorer in the game with 13 points. She was well assisted by Sumaya Al Hashmi, who contributed with 10 points.
On the other hand, the Goys Talents performance was affected by the dismissing of two key players Maryam Thani and Jameela Mohammed, who left the court after each committed five personal fouls.
Their best player was Fatima Mohammed, who could score 12 points, with Aisha Salman (10 points) being the second top scorer.
In another match, the Ministry of Interior womens team captured a huge 20-point margin win over Al Najma.
A 50-30 victory gave the Ministry of Interior a perfect start and a strong warning to other contestants in this six-team championship, which also includes Al Ahli and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Dalya Abdulla stole the show with an impressive 27 points, guiding the Ministry of Interior team to victory.
Ministry of Interior dominated the game right from the start, taking a commanding 10-4 advantage in the first quarter, then went into half-time leading 32-11.
There was no stopping the Ministry of Interior team and their star player Dalya, scoring from all over the court to secure a well-earned win and a joint top spot with Al Hidd Club.
