Ginebra charged in the second half and pulled off a 108-97 victory over Alaska to advance to the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals Tuesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Lewis Tenorio (177-PG-84) took the responsibility of taking the life out of the Aces, unleashing 31 points, three assists, and two rebounds, including the dagger floater to put his side up, 102-91, with 1:32 to play and seal the deal. But it wasn't just Lewis Tenorio who did the work, as Ginebra also leaned on its young guns to stun the second-seed Aces and overcome a twice-to-win disadvantage. Aljon Mariano nabbed a career-high 20 markers and eight boards, Kevin Ferrer (194-F-93) had 15 points and five rebounds, and Scottie Thompson got 10 markers, nine rebounds, three steals, and two assists to carry the Gin Kings to the Final Four. Ginebra will face Star in the best-of-7 semifinals to begin on Thursday.

Flying V Filoil Preseason Cup: Former Green Archer lifts San Beda over DLSU - 14 hours ago
The San Beda Red Lions needed a booming triple from Daniel Bolick(178-PG-89, college: N.Carolina) in the crucial stretch to cop the 11th Flying V Filoil Preseason Cup over the DLSU Green Archers, 75-72 at the Flying V Center in San Juan City. It was a nip-and-tuck affair for the two powerhouse ballclubs, getting key plays from their ace players. Beermen Manhandle Ka Tropa In Game 2, Even Series - 3 days ago
San Miguel Beer made sure Friday night that Josh Smith or any other TNT KaTropa player would not spring another surprise. Charles Rhodes (203-F/C-85, college: Mississippi St.) had a quiet night but the SMB locals put things together as the Beermen throttled to a 102-88 rout of the TNT KaTropa in Game Two of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Taking into heart their 102-104 loss in Game One, the SMB ace locals came back with vengeance in their eyes and pummell...   [read more]
