June Mar
Fajardo
27-year old center June Mar Fajardo (210-C-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team SM Beermen and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds, while his team edged out TNT Ka Tropa (#4, 6-5) 98-94. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed SM Beermen to consolidate first place in the Filipino league. SM Beermen has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. Fajardo has many years of experience at SM Beermen, through which he has constantly improved. Fajardo has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.9ppg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 67.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Alex Mallari (193-G/F-87) of Mahindra. He is naturalized American swingman in his first season at Mahindra. In the last game Mallari recorded impressive double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Mahindra cruised to a 106-96 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked NLEX RW (#12, 2-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Mahindra managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 10th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Mallari is a newcomer at Mahindra and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.1ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.4rpg and 4.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Terrence Bill Romeo (180-PG-92) of Globalport (#5). Romeo got into 30-points club by scoring 44 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Globalport, leading his team to a 117-99 easy win against the lower-ranked Rain or Shine (#8, 5-5). Globalport needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Romeo has a great season in Philippines. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 27.2ppg (best scorer) and assists with 6.2apg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terrence Bill Romeo (180-PG-92) of Globalport - 35 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Lewis Tenorio (177-PG-84) of B.Ginebra - 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
