It was Friday the 13th in the 2016-2017 PBA Philippine Cup, but that did not dampen the atmosphere as GlobalPort and San Miguel Beer both notched victories.

Game Capsules:

The GlobalPort Batang Pier got a huge performance from Terrence Romeo early before cruising late to record a 110-96 victory over the NLEX Road Warriors in the Oppo PBA Philippine Cup on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Romeo scored 32 points - 22 of those coming in the first half - while Stanley Pringle took over late to finish with 20 points, five rebounds and seven assists for GlobalPort, which improved to 5-3 after a second straight win.

Romeo hit eight three-pointers on 15 attempts while also dishing out four assists. He shot 52-percent from the field and 53-percent from beyond the arc in a huge offensive showing.

JR Quinahan added 18 points and seven rebounds while Papot Paredes chipped in with 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field.

Carlo Lastimosa led NLEX with 19 points while Kevin Alas and Sean Anthony each added 16. The Road Warriors fell to 2-6, tying Meralco at the bottom of the standings. (

Sean Anthony (NLX) _ 16pts, 9rebs, 5asts, 3stls, 4 triples.

Alex Cabagnot sent the game into overtime and June Mar Fajardo made sure to finish the job as the streaking San Miguel Beermen picked up another victory, this time over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 107-101, in the Oppo PBA Philippine Cup on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Fajardo, the reigning three-time PBA MVP, dominated for 25 points and 17 rebounds in the win. He shot 9-for-12 (75-percent) from the field and scored 15 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead his team.

Arwind Santos also had a big double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds in a huge win for SMB, which has now won seven games in a row.

RR Garcia contributed 17 points from off the San Miguel bench while Cabagnot - who knocked down the crucial jumper that tied the game with one second left in regulation - and Marcio Lassiter each chipped in with 14 points.

The league-leading Beermen are now 8-1 in the conference while knocking down the Elasto Painters, who entered the game as the No. 2 team, to 5-3.

Beau Belga led Rain or Shine with 14 points while Chris Tiu added 13. James Yap finished with only three points in under 14 minutes of play. (
