Nino Canaleta (196-F-82) had a very impressive game in the last round for Air21 Express and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 30-year old forward had the game-high 41 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Air21 Express in his team's victory, helping them to crush Global Port (#10, 1-13) with 21-point margin 113-92. Air21 Express is placed at 8th position in Filipino PBA. Air21 Express is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-9 record. In the team's last game Canaleta had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Air21 Express' top player in his first season with the team. Nino Canaleta averages this season 14.5ppg and 5.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 37-year old American forward Ali Peek (194-F-75) of league's best team Talk N Text. Peek impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Talk N Text cruised to a 87-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Barangay Ginebra (#6, 7-7). Of course Talk N Text still keep the league's top spot. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 12 matches. Peek is one of the most experienced players at Talk N Text and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Peter Simon (186-G-82) of second-ranked San Mig Coffee. Simon scored 27 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of San Mig Coffee, leading his team to a 107-96 win against the lower-ranked Global Port (#10, 1-13). San Mig Coffee needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 4 lost games. Simon has a great season in Philippines. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.1ppg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Rob Reyes (196-C-83) of Air21 Express - 12 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Jonathan Uyloan (180-G-83) of Rain or Shine - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Rabeh Al-Hussaini (199-F/C-88) of Global Port - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists

9. Cyrus Baguio (188-G-80) of Alaska Aces - 20 points and 5 rebounds
10. Peter Simon (186-G-82) of San Mig Coffee - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
