28-year old point guard LA Tenorio (177-PG-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Barangay Ginebra and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8.
He got a double-double of 20 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Rain or Shine (#3, 8-4) 97-90. Barangay Ginebra maintains the 5th position in Filipino league. Barangay Ginebra is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-5 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Tenorio as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Tenorio has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (7th best: 4.7apg).

Second best performed player last round was Douglas Kramer (193-F-83) of Barako Bull. He is a forward in his first season at Barako Bull. In the last game Kramer recorded impressive double-double of 15 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Barako Bull lost that game 83-93 to the higher-ranked Petron Blaze (#6, 6-6). Barako Bull managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Barako Bull managed to get this year. Kramer is a newcomer at Barako Bull and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jervy Cruz (193-F/C-86) of Rain or Shine (#3). Cruz scored 17 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Cruz's great performance Rain or Shine lost 90-97 to slightly lower-ranked Barangay Ginebra (#5, 6-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Rain or Shine needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Cruz has a great season in Philippines. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.9rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kelly Nabong) of Meralco Bolts - 18 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Mike Cortez (183-G-80) of Air21 Express - 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Gabe Norwood (196-G/F-85) of Rain or Shine - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Arwind Santos (193-F-81) of Petron Blaze - 21 points and 12 rebounds
8. Gary David (188-G/F-78) of Global Port - 33 points and 5 rebounds
9. Joe Devance (201-C-82) of San Mig Coffee - 7 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Mark Cardona (180-G/F-81) of Meralco Bolts - 26 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
