Santa Cruz Warriors released 27-year old Filipino center Japeth Aguilar (208-102kg-85, college: W.Kentucky).
This summer (three years after he left the college) Aguilar was drafted by Santa Cruz Warriors (D-League) in seventh round (109th overall).
The former Western Kentucky University star is in his fourth season in pro basketball. Aguilar won PBA Philippine Cup championship title and made it to the cup final.
He was voted Asia-Basket.com All-PBA Philippine Cup Center of the Year in 2012. Aguilar represented Philippines at the Asian Championships in Wuhan (China) last year. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 5 games: 6.6ppg, 3.2rpg, FGP: 56.5%, FT: 70.0%.
Aguilar has played also professionally in Philippines (Talk N Text, Air21 Express and Smart Gilas).
