Philippines clinch SEABA crown - Oct 29, 2010

Philippines clinched the SEABA Championship title. They dethroned Thailand winning the championship clash tonight. Joan Grajales (162-G-79) scored 14 points to lead Philippines to the victory in Manila. The hosts finished the tournament undefeated claiming five victories in a row.
Philippines quickly surged ahead in this one. The home team established a 17:9 lead after ten minutes. Thailand struck right back early in the second term. The visitors went on a 12:0 run to level things up at 22. Saechu put Thailand in charge 29:28 midway through the period. But Merenciana Arayi (85) retained the advantage for Philippines. They stayed in front posting a 37:36 lead at halftime. Philippines never surrendered the advantage in the third quarter. They ensured a 10-point lead at the final pause 55:45. The hosts did not slow down in the final frame. Thailand scored just 9 points in the final term and never threatened the margin.
Diana Jose (173-F-85) accounted for 12 points for Philippines. Merenciana Arayi added 11 points, while Melissa Jacob (175-G-84) nailed 7 points for the champs. Charothai Suksomwong (169-F-84) responded with 21 points for Thailand. Naruemol Banmoo (185-C-87) netted 15 points in defeat.
