India U18 registered the fourth straight win at the Asia Championship in Thailand. They fired past Philippines earlier today to improve at 4-0 record on top of Level II ladder. Philippines slipped at 2-2 record. K Kavita (165-G-92) came up with 33 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort. India surged ahead right from the start. They quickly mounted a double-digit lead. India accounted for 27 points in the opening quarter to enjoy a 16-point advantage at the first break. India opened the second quarter with an 11:2 run to accumulate a massive lead. They continued to maintain the lead. India arrived at the final pause ahead by as many as 26 points 67:41. Andul Hameed Khan team boosted the gap to 35 points midway through the fourth term before finally loosening the grasp. Philippines went on a 14:4 run to trim the deficit a bit at the end of the game. Sneha Rajguru (178-F) provided 16 points and 11 rebounds for India. Deepa Lutukurthy (153-G-92) added 14 points for the winners. Alyanna Nitorreda (173-F-94) responded with 14 points for Philippines. Camille Claro (158-G-96) finished with 13 points in the loss.

She attended University of North Carolina until 2012 and it is her first season in pro basketball. The list of the past achievements is quite long as Shegog played in the final of ACC Tournament in 2011. She was also voted All-ACC 2nd Team in 2012 at her college time. Shegog represented USA at the World Championships U19 in Thailand four years ago. Her team won Gold and her stats at that event were 9 games: 5.3ppg, 3.8rpg, FGP: 38.9%, FT: 54.5%.

They overcame Indonesia to send the hosts to 0-4 record at the bottom of the ladder. Merenciana Arayi (85) accounted for 14 points to lead the winners. Indonesia got to a quick start. They ensured a 23:11 lead after ten minutes. However Philippines picked up the tempo in the second quarter. They outscored the hosts 21:9 to secure a 32:32 draw at halftime. Philippines pulled in front in the third term. They entered the final quarter up by 7 points 55:48. Indonesia got within three points late in regulation but Merenciana Arayi sealed the win for Philippines from the stripe. Chovi Borja (85) accounted for 13 points, while Joan Grajales (162-G-79) added 11 points, 7 assists and 6 boards in the win. Wulan Ningrum (174-G/F-85) responded with 26 points for Indonesia. Philippines led by a single point after ten minutes of action 16:15. But Thailand went on a 23:13 run in the second term to take a 38:29 halftime lead. Philippines bounced back right after the big break. They held Thailand to 12 points in the period to get within 3 points. Philippines pulled in front late in regulation. Merenciana Arayi (85) gave them a 64:61 lead with 24 seconds remaining. But Jantakan drained a triple with 7 seconds to go to level things up at 64. Philippines pulled ahead once again in the extra frame but Jantakan and Chonticha Chirdpetcharat (174-F-81) nailed a bunch of free throws to seal the victory for Thailand. Juthathip Mathuros (178-F/C-85) finished with 13 points and 9 rebounds, while Chonticha Chirdpetcharat had 11 points for the winning side. Merenciana Arayi responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Philippines. Analyn Almajan accounted for 14 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
