Qatar clinched the Pan Arab Games title. The hosts of the tournament overcame Jordan in the title encounter tonight. Tanguy Ngombo (197-F-84) tallied 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort. Qatar grabbed the initiative right from the start. They established a 20:13 lead after ten minutes of action. The home team maintained the lead throughout the second term. Qatar - Jordan 78-70 Qatar clinched the Pan Arab Games title. The hosts of the tournament overcame Jordan in the title encounter tonight. Tanguy Ngombo (197-F-84) tallied 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort. Qatar grabbed the initiative right from the start. They established a 20:13 lead after ten minutes of action. Tunisia - Egypt 71-88 Egypt clinched the third position at Pan Arab Games. They outgunned Tunisia in the consolation final tonight. Assem Marei (206-C/F-92) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. The teams stayed close throughout the opening quarter. The lead changed hands for several times before Egypt eked out a 19:18 lead heading into the next period. Egypt opened the second quarter on a 16:1 run to boost their lead. They arrived at halftime up by 16 points 47:31. Egypt kept their opponents at safe distance throughout the third quarter. They headed into the final frame up by 19 points 69:50 and never looked back en route to the victory. Amr El Gandy (202-F/C-88) finished with 11 points, while Ahmed ElSabagh (191-F/G-85) chipped in 10 points for the winners. Mourad El Mabrouk (190-G-86) answered with 28 points for Tunisia. Lassad Chouya (190-G-89) netted 11 points in the loss.

Egypt controlled the tempo in the second quarter. They raced to a 44:30 halftime lead. But Qatar gradually came back to life in the third term. The hosts got within 5 points midway throughout the final frame and then went on a final spurt to clinch the victory. Jordan - Tunisia 74-69 Jordan entered the Final game of Pan Arab Games in Doha. The team overcame Tunisia and revenged for the only loss in the tournament few days ago. That time Jordan lost to Tunisia 69:77. Today Jordan edged Tunisia 74:69 mostly due to the second half. Although Jordan won the first period 20-14, the African team replied with 20-11 and took 3-points lead at the halftime. Jordan reduced to 2 points after three quarters due to 21-20 in the third quarter. Moreover the final push allowed them to taste the win and advanced to the Finals. Rasheim Wright (192-G-81, college: District of Col.) paced all the winners with 28 points and Abbaas Islam netted 9. Bachir Hadidane (201-C-84) ended up with 22 points and Ghayaza Mokhtar notched 14 in defeat.

Algeria - Kuwait 92-79 Algeria is placed 5th, while Kuwait finishes 6th at Pan Arab Games in Doha. The African team grabbed 92:79 victory in the last game for both teams. Algeria took 25-22 after the first 10 minutes and erupted in the second frame. The African team added 29-16 in the quarter for 16-point advantage at the halftime. Kuwait however was too far to give up and reduced the gap after 24-12 in the third period. Only due to 26-17 in the last stanza Algeria managed to take the win. Mohamed Esseghir (208-C/F-85, college: S.Florida) erupted with 24 points and 19 rebounds for the winners, while Mounir Benzegala (178-PG-87, agency: SportsList Inc., college: Tampa) nailed 20. Belkacemi Nedjeddine (F-87) scored 14 and Belhoul Mohamed Amine added 10. AlRashidi Nayef and Mohammad Abdulaziz combined for 60 points in the losing effort.

Iraq - Lebanon 75-89 Lebanon finished their Pan Arab Games on a high note. Ghassan Sarkis team overcame Iraq to claim the seventh overall position. Cheickh El Khatib posted 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead the winners. The teams exchanged baskets throughout the opening quarter. The lead changed hands for several times before Iraq did not post a 20:18 advantage. Lebanon pulled ahead in the second quarter. They took a 41:36 halftime lead. The margin grew at double-digits in the third quarter. Lebanon entered the final frame up by 10 points 67:57. Lebanon triggered a 10:4 run early in the second quarter and sealed the deal. Elie ES\stephane posted 13 points, while Nadim Hawe (203-C/F-83) finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Lebona. Mohammed Mahdi answered with 19 points and 11 boards. Quaiba Al-Doore had 15 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
9-10 places
Morocco - Palestine 83-65 Morocco finished 10th in Doha beating Palestine in the game for 10-11th places at Pan Arab Games. Trailing after the first 10 minutes of the game, they grabbed 83:65 win in their last game. Palestine surprised the opponents with 20-16 in the first period, but could not follow them in the rest of the game. Morocco produced a 22-12 surge in the second frame and took 6-point advantage at the halftime. Moreover the third quarter brought them 26-13 and the bigger lead that they kept up to the end. Anouar Grayssi (193-G-88) paced all the winners with 26 points and Rhalimi Reda netted 17. Boustout Said nailed 9, while Soufiane Nadim delivered 7. Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-G/F-87, college: Minnesota) replied with 19 points in the losing effort and Sakakini Salim collected 16 points and 16 rebounds in defeat.
11-12 places
Saudi Arabia - Sudan 87-64 Saudi Arabia clinch 11th place in Doha as they beat Sudan in their last game. Saudi Arabia needed 87:64 win to finish one step higher at the Al Gharafa Sports Club-Indoor Hall. Saudi Arabia started with 26-13 and never looked behind after. The opponents however won the second frame 16-15 to reduce to 41:29 at the halftime. The second half belonged to the winners as they added two victories. Saudi Arabia posted 20-17 in the third frame and finished with 26-18 in the last. Fawaz Gassas (194-F-77) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Ahmed Samater (198-F/C-80) collected 19 points and 13 rebounds. Fahad Belal (181-G-91) netted 14 and Almuwallad Marzouq scored 10. Haman Elkir (G) ended up with 22 points and Elfadel Kamal collected 18 points and 10 rebounds in defeat. Sudan finished the tournament on the 12th place.
