Iran registered the second straight win at the start of the WABA Championship. They fired past Palestine to improve at 2-0 record. Reza Lotfi (191-G/F-83) notched 19 points for the winners.
Iran left their opponents far behind in the opening frame. The defending champions reeled off to a 33:11 start. They unleashed 32 points in the second quarter to establish a 55:23 halftime lead. Palestine managed to slow down their opponents in the third term. Palestine outscored Iran to cut the distance but the reigning champions quickly restored the tempo and cruised to the victory at the end. Hamed Afagh (190-SG-83) knocked down 18 points, while Samad Nik Khahbahrami (198-F-83) provided 11 points in the victory. Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-F/G-87, college: Minnesota) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Palestine. Nicola Fadayel (194-F-87) and Sakakini Sani (204-C-88) had 8 points each in the loss.

Blackwater Elite (PBA) signed 29-year old Palestinian ex-international point guard Imad Qahwash (188-83kg-87, college: Cent.Arkansas). He played last season at Samen in Iranian Superleague. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of Pressiona Adidas Pro Summerleague (Spain) 3-Point in 2012.
