Jordan - Palestine 87:53

Jordan earned the first win at the 12th WABA Championship. The hosts fired past Palestine in Amman. Mousa Alawadi (188-G-85) delivered 19 points to pace Jordan.
The home team gave little hope for their opponents. Jordan surged ahead right from the start and posted a 19:10 lead after ten minutes. They maintained it well throughout the second term. Jordan gained a 38:22 halftime lead. Palestine could not change the complexion of the game after the big break. Jordan exploded with 28 points in the third quarter to pile up a 27-point buffer and never looked back en route to the win. Ali Jamal (205-C/F-88) had 16 points, while Fares Saqf-AlHait (194-G/F-87, college: Calumet) accounted for 12 points in the winning case. Nicola Fadayel (191-F-87) answered with 23 points for Palestine. Ahmad Tina netted 7 points in the loss.
