Kuwait grabbed the second place in Group C of Pan Arab Games after the victory over Palestine. A final push in the last quarter allowed them to taste 94:86 win for 2-1 record.
Kuwait only took 9-8 after the first 5 minutes of the game but then increased to 20:15 at the end of the first period. The board showed 43:37 at the halftime, while Palestine erupted for 12-2 run early in the fourth to reduce to 78:72. Kuwait however did not allow them to come closer and won the game.
Nayef AlRashidi (185-SF-89) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Abdullah AlMutairi (190-F/G-87) delivered 15. Abdulaziz Mohammad (186-G/F-87) ended up with 14 points and three other teammates added 10 apiece. Jamal Abu-Shamala (196-G/F-87, college: Minnesota) replied with 30 points in the losing effort and Nicola Fadayel (191-F-87) nailed 18. Iyad Yousef (205-C-80) notched 11, while Salim Sakakini (F-87) posted 9 for Palestine that lost the third straight game.
