Orthodox Ramallah Champs of the 31st Shuhada Tournament - Sep 27, 2011

The 31st Shuhada (Martyrs) Tournament organized by Sarriyet Ramallah finished with an earned title for Orthodox Ramallah coached by the well known coach Othman Budeiri after beating Orthodox Beit Jala coached by the great coach Maher Mata. While Berzeit Club took 3rd place and Orthodox Beit Sahour 4th place.

Orthodox Ramallah vs. Orthodox Beit Jala 82 - 78
The game was very intense, both teams played good with talented players at both ends. Orthodox Ramallah played hard with one heart and eye on the championship title, led by Ahmad Dib (81) who was unstoppable with his 3pointers scoring 33 points along with the shooting guard Ibrahim Zaibaq and Nadeem Moussa (89) and Yasin Zeitawi under basket with several rebounds. While Beit Jala players where very competitive not giving up so easil, with Kamal Mukarker scoring 21 points and Nicola Fadayel was playing all around the court being strongly guarded by the other team having 19 rebounds. Shadi Bahnan was fast as usual penetrating along with Raed Abu Rumman under basket.

On another end - a few updates on Palestinian Basketball:
- One more Tournament for this season which is the cup tournament with 22 Teams taking part and the draw will take place on the 1st of October - Stay tuned.

Orthodoxi Bethlehem enjoy the top with a 13-1 record - 3 hours ago
Orthodoxi Bethlehem has a 13-1 record after the win over Birzaet 78-64. Earlier they beat Orthodoxi Ramallah 81-73. Sariya Ramallah is with 11-2 record on the second place after the win over De La Salle - Jerusalem 88-83. Orthodoxi Bayt Sahour is third with a 10-3. They edged Ibdae 81-78.   [read more]

Justin Monroe (ex Beit Sahour) signs at Al Shamal - 16 days ago
Al Shamal Doha (D1) landed 31-year old American guard Justin Monroe (196-97kg-87, college: Morehouse). He played in the summer at ORC Beit Sahour in Palestinian PBBA. The last season Monroe played at Fougeres (NM2) in French league. He helped his team to make it to the Singapore Pro-Am SBL Final in 2016. Island Storm (NBL Canada) inked American forward Julius Barton (203-95kg, college: Kentucky State). He played in the summer at De La Salle in Palestinian PBBA.
