GCC Basketball U-15 Championship: Bahrain cruise to victory over Oman - Aug 16, 2016

Bahrain crushed Oman 110-41 in the third round of the fifth GCC Basketball U-15 Championship in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last night. The quarters scores were 30-6 (Bahrain), 25-20 (Bahrain), 22-9 (Bahrain) and 33-6 (Bahrain). This was Bahrain's second consecutive victory in the tournament, after their first win against hosts Saudi Arabia 73-59, and they remain the only undefeated team in the championship. Bahrain dominated the match from the beginning and led the first quarter 30-6, thanks to excellent performance by Mustafa Hussain Ali who scored three three pointers. Bahrain continued their domination in the second quarter, maintaining the big margin until the end of the second quarter 55-26. Bahrain had no trouble in the third and fourth quarters as they scored a number of three pointers with lots of fast breaks and lay-ups to win the match 110-41.
In the other match, Qatar defeated UAE 53-45. The quarters scores were 14-12 (Qatar), 8-5 (UAE), 13-9 (Qatar), 21-16 (Qatar). This was Qatar's second victory and they lead the championship standing with five points from three matches. They had earlier won against Oman in their second game 48-42, but lost to hosts Saudi Arabia in the first match 48-44.

Antonio Haymon (ex Al Salam) is a newcomer at As Seeb - 2 months ago
As Seeb (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old American swingman Antonio Haymon (198-102kg-88, college: Lee). He played last season at Al Salam in Saudi Arabian SBL league, played few games with Al Khor in Qatari league that year. The other team he played shortly was Hoops Club in Lebanese Pepsi LBL where in 6 games he recorded 13.8ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg last season. Sitra signs Karim York, ex Al Nizwa !! - 7 months ago
Sitra Club (Premier League) signed American forward Karim York (206-102kg, college: Prairie View A&M). He played last season at Al Nizwa in Omani D1 league.
York's team made it to the SWAC Tournament Semifinals in 2015.
He graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 2016 and it will be his second season as a professional player.
