DeAndre Rice
Al Nizwa (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old American guard DeAndre Rice (191-85, college: Florida Atlantic). He already started the season at Al Shurtah in Iraqi Superleague.
He received also Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Honorable Mention award in 2016.
The previous (14-15) season he played at Al Ahli (SBL) in Saudi Arabian league. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
In 13-14 season Rice played at Ittihad in Libyan league. He contributed to his team ending the regular season as at the second position in the league. They also played in the cup final.
In 2007 Rice was drafted by Tulsa 66ers (D-League) in fourth round (46th overall).
He attended Florida Atlantic University and it is his tenth season in pro basketball. Rice won Iraqi League championship title in 2015.
Rice has played previously professionally in Syria (Al Jalaa) and Tunisia (U.S. Monastir).

Oman league playoff is getting closer - 24 days ago
Two more rounds left before playoffs starts for Oman league. Four team who will advance will play two rounds,league system. Teams who are already qualified are Al Nizwa,As Seeb,Al Ahli and Al Ittifaq. Play off will start march 7th. Today As Seeb will play against Ahli Sudab in Muscat-Sultan Qabus sports complex ,both teams already qualified for play off. Oman league is back this weekend - 1 month ago
After a tragic death of Al Nizwa player Ali Selmi (27),league cancelled last weeks games.This weekend Oman league is back. Salalah Dofar won agains Qurayat with 25 points difference. As Seeb won against Dofar with the score As Seeb 89-45 Dofar (Dofar). Game Al Nizwa and Ahli Sidab was cancelled after Nizwa player broke the rim 5 minutes befor the start of the game. As Seeb under coach Memic on the right track - 2 months ago
Two games were played yesterday in Oman leage. Al Nizwa won against Ahli Sidab in a very close game. Ahli Sidab under coach Mohammed Alowaisi was leading almost entire game,but experience of Nizwa point guard Bojan Malesevic who helped Nizwa to overcome deficit of 8 points in last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter, and records another victory.
