Jordan - DPR Korea 79:74
Jordan finished their Asian Games campaign on a high note. They knocked down DPR Korea to occupy the seventh overall position. Abdullah Abuqoura (202-C-84) stepped up with 20 points, 13 boards and 4 assists for the winners.
DPR Korea raced in front early in the encounter but Jordan quickly denied the effort. They grabbed the lead to post a 23:19 advantage at the first break. Jordan used a 14:2 run in the second quarter to ensure a comfortable 17-point lead at the interval. DPR Korea refused to surrender as they changed the complexion of the encounter in the third term. The Korean side increased the tempo and narrowed the gap at only 2 points with one quarter remaining 55:57. Jordan tried to play aggressively in the fourth period as they maintained the lead. Fadel Alnajjar (192-G-85) and Abdullah Abuqoura stepped up for Jordan late in regulation and sealed the winning outcome.
Fadel Alnajjar produced 14 points for the winners. Malek Khashan (185-G-85) netted 12 points for Jordan. Byol Sin Kum (191-F-87) responded with 18 points for DPR Korea. Kwang Kye (180-G-84) and Jin Pak Myong (191-F-82) had 16 points each in the loss.

Philippines scored a comfortable win over DPR Korea in the classification round of Asian Games. Rajko Toroman team will now try to finish their campaign on a high note when they take on Qatar for the fifth overall place tomorrow. DPR Korea will play versus Jordan.
Philippines dominated this one. They erupted for 28 points in the opening quarter to take a 6-point lead. Philippines unleashed an 18:7 run in the second term to arrive at halftime up by as many as 17 points 54:37. More to come in the third period as Philippines boosted the margin to 20 points and entered the fourth quarter leading by as many as 21 points 76:55. Philippines stayed comfortably in charge throughout the final period and earned a well-deserved win at the end. Greg Slaughter (211-C-88) and Mac Baracael (193-F/G-85) notched 18 points each for Philippines. Chris Lutz (191-G-85, college: Marshall) contributed 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the victory. Jin Pak Myong (191-F-82) answered with 17 points for DPR Korea. Kwang Kye (180-G-84) chipped in 16 points in the loss.

Japan made it into the semifinal stage at Asian Games in China. They dealt with DPR Korea in the quarterfinal tonight. Takumi Ishizaki (188-G-84) and Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-G-80) led well-balanced effort from Thomas Wisman team. Japan went on a 12:6 run late in the opening frame to take a 24:16 lead. They stretched the margin to double digits quickly in the second quarter. Japan arrived at halftime leading by as many as 20 points 50:30. Things got even worse for DPR Korea in the second half. Japan maintained the pressure and ensured a comfortable 21-point cushion before the fourth quarter. DPR Korea got within 20-point range in the fourth period but never seriously threaten the deficit. Tomoo Amino (196-F-80) finished with 11 points for Japan. Kosuke Takeuchi (205-C/F-85) chipped in 10 points and collected 9 rebounds for the winning side. Byol Sin Kum (191-F-87) responded with 22 points and 6 boards for DPR Korea. Jin Pak Myong (191-F-82) and Kwang Kye (180-G-84) delivered 12 points each in the loss. Japan will now take on South Korea in the semifinal tomorrow.
