Sambriddhi Rai top-scored with 10 points but failed to save St Mary’s from a 22-30 loss to Rato Bangala in the the fifth men’s and sixth women’s Samsung National Basketball Tournament. In the other women’s section match, Happy Home beat Don Bosco 32-17, riding on Maya Syangtan’s 12 points. The first quarter, in which Happy Home took a 15-2 lead, proved crucial as the point difference in the next three quarters remained just two.
In mens’ section, Ambition Academy entered the quaterfinals following their 47-35 win over Swarnim. Trilochan Khadka of Ambition top-scored with 17 points, while Prashant Thapa netted 12 for Swarnim. In the other match, Don Bosco College defeated Mahindra Gyan Club 56-44, in which Binod Shrestha and Sadish Pradhan scored 15 points each for the winners. Anup Manandhar of Gyan Club also had 15 points.
Defending Champions Himalayan Whitehouse also entered the quaterfinals of the Men's section after beating Parsa (Birgunj).

The inaugural edition of the 1st FIBA Asia 33 U18 Championship for Boys and Girls has started in Bangkok, Thailand with 36 different teams, representing 18 countries across FIBA Asia ranging from Japan in East to Lebanon in the West and Kazakhstan in the North to Maldives in the South will be on show showcasing their skills in the Thai capital.

The inaugural edition of the 1st FIBA Asia 33 U18 Championship for Boys and Girls has started in Bangkok, Thailand with 36 different teams, representing 18 countries across FIBA Asia ranging from Japan in East to Lebanon in the West and Kazakhstan in the North to Maldives in the South will be on show showcasing their skills in the Thai capital.
Nepal Boys and Girls team are also participating in the championship. On the first day of the championship, Nepal Boys team lost to Thailand 8 21 while in the second match Nepal Boys team beat Srilanka 13-12. Its a mix result for Nepal Boys team.
Girls team of Nepal played only one match in the first day losing to Philippines 6 13.
