Seven teams will tip off the fourth edition of the Malaysian Women Basketball League (MWBL) from Oct 14-Nov 12. Newcomers Kulai BA will replace Melaka 906 while defending champions KL Binapuri will be out to retain their title. Malaysia's women' basketball team retained the SEA Games gold medal after defeating Thailand 65-60 in an epic battle at the MABA Stadium here today. The girls coached by Sze Yuin Yoong (173-F-72) were behind 12-26 in the first quarter and left for the break with the score standing at 35-39 in favour of the Thais. Malaysia is one step closer to the gold medal in the SEA Games 2017 basketball event by winning a thrilling game against Philippines despite the Pinoys' last minute clutch, 60-56.
