Here is the weekly review of the top performing Lebanese players, who play currently abroad.

Jarrid Famous

#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida, currently plays in Argentina). He led GECR Indalo to a surprising victory over the sixth-ranked Obras Basket (10-7) 93-91 in the Argentinian LigaA in Friday night's game. Famous was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 15 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) in 29 minutes on the court. Gimnasia-Indalo Esgr.Comodoro Rivadavia (6-7) is placed 14th in the LigaA. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Famous' first season with the team. Famous has relatively good stats this year: 13.9ppg, 9.5rpg, 2FGP: 57.4% (66-115) and FT: 81.7% in 13 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Famous played for the Lebanese senior national team six years ago. He used to play for Tadamon Zouk in Lebanese league.

#2. Second place goes to an international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94, currently plays in China). Arakji could not help Fly Dragons (17-19) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Fly Dragons were edged 113-111 on the road by the higher-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (#8). Arakji was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 9 assists. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Arakji has relatively solid stats: 13.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 7.0apg, 2FGP: 46.2%, 3FGP: 16.7% and FT: 71.4%. He is in the roster of the Lebanese senior national team.

#3. The Lebanese player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Norvel Pelle (208-93, college: Iona, currently plays in Italy). Pelle contributed to an Openjobmetis VA's victory against the eighth-ranked MIA-RO Cantu (9-9) 89-85 in the Italian Serie A on Monday night. He scored 9 points in 15 minutes. Openjobmetis Varese (7-11) is placed 12th in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Pelle averages: 5.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 66.7% (38-57) and FT: 65.0% in 18 games. He is a naturalized American. Pelle is also a member of the Lebanese senior national team. He used to play for Homenetmen Beirut in Lebanese league.

#4. Guard Joseph Chartouny (190-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Fordham (2-8) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Chartouny's good performance the Fordham was crushed 73-50 at home by the Saint Louis University. He scored 11 points. Chartouny has reliable stats this season: 10.4ppg, 5.5rpg, 4.6apg and 3.3spg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lebanese. Chartouny is also Lebanese national team player.

#5. An experienced former international center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona, currently plays in Bahrain) led Al-Hala to a victory over the closely-ranked Al-Muharraq (18-6) 70-63 in the Bahrain Premier League last Monday. He was the best player in that game. Woods had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 18 rebounds in 40 minutes. Al-Hala (16-8) is placed sixth in the Premier League. The Regular Season already ended. Woods has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 21.3ppg, 18.3rpg, 2.1apg and 3.0bpg in 24 games. Woods is a naturalized American. Despite he played previously for the USA U18 national team, Woods is currently in the Lebanese national team roster. He used to play for Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut in Lebanese league.

It is actually his comeback to Halcones de Ciudad Obregon as he has played here before. Johnson has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Lebanon edge Iraq 80-57 in Day 2 at the Bahrain International Tournament. After a 22-23 loss at the start of the game, Lebanon posted a 15-11 rally in the second frame to take a 3-point advantage at the halftime. Egypt - Lebanon 71-60 Egypt edged Lebanon 71-60 at the start of the Bahrain International Tournament. They managed to win three the quarters of the game including a 16-12 in the start. Lebanoan replied with a 16-11 rally in the third quarter, while Egypt grabbed the win due to 26-17 surge in the last stanza.
