Byblos Sporting Club (Pepsi LBL) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 34-year old American center Courtney Sims (211-111kg-83, college: Michigan). He played most recently at SK Knights in South Korean KBL league, but left the team in Dec.'16. In 19 games he recorded 13.4ppg and 9.7rpg last season.
He was selected to Korean KBL All-Star Game in 2016.
The previous (15-16) season Sims played at Sonic Boom (also in KBL) where in 45 games he averaged impressive 17.2ppg, 11.1rpg (#2 in the league) and 1.0bpg.
In 2007 he was drafted by Gary Steelheads (USBL) in third round (30th overall).
The former University of Michigan staris in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
Sims' team made it to the Korean KBL Semifinals in 2014.
Sims is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in eight different countries. Sims has played previously professionally in Belgium, China (Leopards), Latvia (VEF Riga), Puerto Rico, Russia (CSKA Moscow), NBA (Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns) and NBA G League (Iowa Wolves).

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Riyadi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Riyadi smashed 8th ranked Byblos in Beirut 106-79. Al Riyadi made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage.
