Roy Samaha
CS Antounieh added to their roster 33-year old Lebanese center Roy Samaha (205-113kg-84). He is a dual citizen owning also French passport. Samaha played last season at Al Riyadi (Pepsi LBL). In 8 games he recorded 3.6ppg and 2.4rpg. Division 2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Samaha helped them to win the league title (twice) despite they ended the regular season at the second place (twice).
The previous (15-16) season he played at Sagesse (also in Pepsi LBL). Pepsi LBL was a little too high level for him, where in 32 games he averaged just 1.6ppg and 2.3rpg. Samaha contributed to his team making it to both league and Cup finals.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Asia-Basket.com Lebanese League All-Domestic Players Team back in 2010.
Samaha was also a member of Lebanese international program for some years. He played for Lebanese Senior National Team between 2002 and 2013 and previously for U20 National Team in 2004.
Samaha played at the WABA Club Championships this year.
Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Samaha has played previously professionally also in France (Paris Levallois) and Lebanon (Anibal, Blue Stars and Al Moutahed).
The scouts decsribe him following way: Player with size, strength, and aggressiveness, rebounds well on both ends, works very hard on defense and now finds himself as a starter playing ahead of older players, plays close to the basket and finishes very well in traffic. This player will one day be the league's best player on 4/5 position..
