Al Riyadi rallied past Sagesse in the quarterfinal series opener. Al Riyadi outrebounded Sagesse 49-31 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. American forward Calvin Godfrey (206-90, college: Memphis) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for Sagesse.

Byblos outlasted Tadamon in overtime. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Byblos made 7 blocks. American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) fired 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. French power forward Ali Traore (207-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 28 points and 6 rebounds. The Regular Season in Pepsi LBL just started. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Hoops Club (0-1) in Beirut on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Homenetmen (1-0) 89-68. In its first game of the season Byblos was a heavy guest in Nouhad Nawfal Stadium against Tadamon. Byblos Sporting Club (Pepsi LBL) added to their roster 25-year old American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-87kg-92, college: St.John's). He played last season at Elitzur Kiryat Ata in Israeli National League. In 24 games he recorded very impressive stats: 20.4ppg, 10.2rpg, 2.1apg, 1.9spg and 2.2bpg.
