Mile Ilic
Bosnia and Herzegovina-Serbian Center Mile Ilic (215-C-84) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Tadamon, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed Champville (8-13) with 16-point margin 92-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tadamon is placed at 3rd position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Tadamon is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 13th lost game this season out of 21 games. In the team's last game Ilic had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Tadamon and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Mile Ilic averages just after two games 20.0ppg and 12.5rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old American Patrick Rembert (185-PG-89) of Champville. Rembert had a very good evening with 33 points and 7 assists. Bad luck as Champville lost that game 76-92 to Tadamon (8-13). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Rembert is a newcomer at Champville, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#4). He also recorded 5.9 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was South Sudanese center Ater Majok (208-C-87) of league's top team Homenetmen. Majok showcased his all-around game by recording 10 points, nineteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Homenetmen, leading his team to a 80-59 easy win against #2 ranked Byblos in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Homenetmen as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 20 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Majok has a great season in Lebanon. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.4rpg (5th best). He also has 2.4bpg and FGP: 61.4%. Ater Majok has also Lebanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Cleveland Melvin (203-F-91) of Moutahed - 25 points and 8 rebounds
5. Maurice Kemp (203-F-91) of Tadamon - 28 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Geron Johnson (190-G-92) of Louaize - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists
7. Mohamad Haidar (201-F-90) of Al Riyadi - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Dewarick Spencer (192-G-82) of Moutahed - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Calvin Godfrey (206-F-90) of Sagesse - 23 points and 9 rebounds
10. Branko Cvetkovic (200-F/G-84) of Al Riyadi - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Pepsi LBL Round 15: Champville loses to Al Moutahed - 3 days ago
The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The game between third ranked Champville (11-4) and sixth ranked Al Moutahed (8-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Champville was defeated by Al Moutahed in a tough game in Tripoli 73-78. It was a good game for American guard Demarius B...   [read more]
