Cleveland
Melvin
American Cleveland Melvin (203-F-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Moutahed and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Champville (#3, 8-12) 92-85. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Moutahed maintains the 2nd position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Moutahed is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 20 games. In the team's last game Melvin had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Moutahed, being already a very valuable addition to the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 32-year old American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-G/F-84, agency: Three Eye Sports) of Champville. Thomas impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Champville lost that game 85-92 to Moutahed (11-9). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Thomas is a newcomer at Champville and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Kevin Galloway (200-PG-88) of top-ranked Homenetmen. Galloway showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, ten rebounds and fourteen assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Homenetmen, leading his team to a 86-65 easy win against #4 ranked Sagesse in a game of the week. Many experts and fans count Homenetmen as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 18 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Galloway has a great season in Lebanon. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 8.5apg (best passer). He also has 2.1spg and FGP: 51.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Clay Tucker (196-G-80) of Byblos - 25 points and 5 rebounds
5. Geron Johnson (190-G-92) of Louaize - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Mohamad Haidar (201-F-90) of Al Riyadi - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Edgar Sosa (190-PG-88) of Al Riyadi - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Ater Majok (208-C-87) of Homenetmen - 14 points and 9 rebounds
9. Markeith Cummings (198-SF-88) of Champville - 26 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Ali Traore (207-C/F-85) of Byblos - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
