Tony Weeden
Mayrouba (Pepsi LBL) tabbed experienced 34-year old American shooting guard Tony Weeden (183-93kg-83, college: Chicago State, agency: Three Eye Sports). He played most recently at Azad in Iranian Superleague. In 25 games he averaged impressive 16.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.1spg last season. He can count that year as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com Iranian Superleague All-Imports Team.
Weeden's team made it to the Cyprus League Semifinals in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball Weeden experienced life in eight different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Weeden has played previously professionally in Bulgaria (Lukoil Academic Sofia), Canada (Kebs de Laval), Greece (Marousi), Italy (Openjobmetis VA), Poland (Slask, Anwil, Siarka, Polpharma and Kwidzyn), Syria (Al Ittihad), Cyprus (Keravnos) and PBL (Quad City R.).
He attended Chicago State until 2005 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Weeden's outlook: A dynamic combo guard, thanks to great court vision he can spend time at the point too. Defends well on the perimeter, has great scoring skills, even coming out from the bench.
