Fadi El
Khatib
Experienced Former international Swingman Fadi El Khatib (198-F/G-79) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Homenetmen and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 37-year old swingman had the game-high 37 points adding five rebounds for Homenetmen in his team's victory, helping them to crush Mayrouba (#10, 3-11) with 19-point margin 96-77. It allowed Homenetmen to consolidate first place in the Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Homenetmen has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 13-1. In the team's last game El Khatib had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Homenetmen's top player in his first season with the team. Fadi El Khatib averages this season 24.0ppg and 5.7rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American guard Geron Johnson (190-G-92) of Louaize. Johnson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Louaize lost that game 80-86 to slightly higher-ranked Moutahed (#4, 8-6). This loss caused Louaize to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Johnson is a newcomer at Louaize and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.5ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 9.7rpg and 6.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Omar Thomas (196-F-82) of Hoops (#9). Thomas showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Thomas' great performance Hoops lost 75-97 to the higher-ranked Byblos (#3, 11-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Hoops can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Thomas he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Thomas has a very solid season. In 9 games in Lebanon he scored 20.6ppg. He also has 9.1rpg, 3.2apg, 2.1spg and FGP: 51.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alade Aminu (210-F/C-87) of Al Riyadi - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Ndudi Ebi (206-F-84) of Byblos - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Dewayne Jackson (203-F-90) of Homenetmen - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Ramel Curry (191-G-80) of Moutahed - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Terrell Stoglin (185-G-91) of Sagesse - 33 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Darian Townes (208-F/C-84) of Champville - 20 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Dewarick Spencer (192-G-82) of Moutahed - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
