Geron
Johnson
Naturalized American Guard Geron Johnson (190-G-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Louaize, receiving a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Tadamon (#6, 5-8) 90-77. Thanks to this victory Louaize moved-up to the 5th position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Louaize is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Louaize's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Memphis star has very solid stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (4th best: 24.5ppg), assists (4th best: 6.2apg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg,2.4spg and 51.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old American Darian Townes (208-F/C-84) of Champville. Townes had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Champville was edged by the higher-ranked Moutahed (#4, 8-6) 91-90. Despite lost game Champville moved up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. Townes is a newcomer at Champville, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Ali Mezher (182-PG-94) of Hoops (#10). Mezher showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, seven rebounds and eleven assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Hoops, leading his team to a 86-72 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Mayrouba (#9, 3-10). Hoops can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-11 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Mezher he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mezher has individually a great season in Lebanon. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.2apg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alade Aminu (210-F/C-87) of Al Riyadi - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Kevin Galloway (200-PG-88) of Homenetmen - 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Dewarick Spencer (192-G-82) of Moutahed - 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
7. Ndudi Ebi (206-F-84) of Byblos - 28 points and 19 rebounds
8. Calvin Godfrey (206-F-90) of Sagesse - 16 points and 11 rebounds
9. M.J. Rhett (206-PF-92) of Tadamon - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Maurice Kemp (203-F-91) of Tadamon - 23 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
