Fadi El
Khatib
Experienced international Swingman Fadi El Khatib (198-F/G-79) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Homenetmen and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 37-year old swingman had a double-double of 31 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Tadamon (#6, 5-6) with 20-point margin 112-92. It allowed Homenetmen to consolidate first place in the Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Homenetmen has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. El Khatib turned to be Homenetmen's top player in his first season with the team. Fadi El Khatib averages this season 23.3ppg and 5.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American forward Maurice Kemp (203-F-91, agency: Duran International) of Tadamon. Kemp impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Tadamon lost that game 92-112 to the higher-ranked Homenetmen (#1, 10-1). Tadamon managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Kemp is a newcomer at Tadamon and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.5ppg (#9). He also registered 9.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Omar Thomas (196-F-82) of Hoops (#10). Thomas scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Thomas' great performance Hoops lost 76-89 to the higher-ranked Moutahed (#4, 6-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Hoops can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-10 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Thomas he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Thomas has a very solid season. In 6 games in Lebanon he scored 18.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Clay Tucker (196-G-80) of Byblos - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Dewayne Jackson (203-F-90) of Homenetmen - 37 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Patrick Rembert (185-PG-89) of Champville - 24 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Charles Tabet (205-C/F-87) of Moutahed - 14 points and 11 rebounds
8. Robert Upshaw (213-C-94) of Mayrouba - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Jasmon Youngblood (195-SG-84) of Byblos - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Travis McKie (201-SF-92) of Louaize - 28 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
