Zach Andrews
Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut (Pepsi LBL) signed 32-year old American power forward Zachary Andrews (203-102kg-85, college: Bradley). He started the season at Earthfriends Tokyo Z in Japanese B League D2. In 18 games he had 11.4ppg, 11.8rpg, 1.6apg, 1.7spg and 1.3bpg this season. The last season Andrews played at another team Iowa Energy in U.S. semi-pro league D-League where in two games he recorded 6.0ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0bpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he played in the final of D-League in 2012. Andrews was also voted Gatorade All-D-League Honorable Mention back in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Andrews has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bosnia (Igokea), Italy (Sutor Montegranaro), Mexico (Fuerza Regia), Spain (Santa Pola), Turkey (Bandirma Kirmizi), D-League (Los Angeles D-Fenders) and ABA (Arizona Scorpions).
Andrews attended Bradley University until 2007 and it is his tenth season as a professional player.
He could be described: Great leaper which makes him a very effective rebounder. A true banger inside that plays with toughness and tenacity in the post, has a great hook shoot that is very hard to stop. He runs the floor like a deer which gives him great advantage on fast breaks. He must add a three point shoot to become nightmare for the opposing players.
