Maurice Kemp
American Forward Maurice Kemp (203-F-91, agency: Duran International) had a very impressive game in the last round for Tadamon, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Hoops (#10, 1-9) 80-70. Tadamon is placed at 4th position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Tadamon is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. Kemp turned to be Tadamon's top player in his first season with the team. Maurice Kemp averages this season 21.6ppg and 8.8rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old Nigerian Michael Efevberha (193-G-84) of Sagesse. Efevberha had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Sagesse to edge slightly lower-ranked Mayrouba (#9, 3-7) 81-76. This victory allowed Sagesse to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Efevberha is one of the most experienced players at Sagesse and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Jasmon Youngblood (195-SG-84) of league's second-best Byblos. Youngblood showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, five rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Byblos, leading his team to a 82-77 win against the lower-ranked Moutahed (#6, 5-5). Byblos is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-2 record is not that bad... Youngblood has a great season in Lebanon. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.4ppg (7th best). Jasmon Youngblood has also Lebanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Patrick Rembert (185-PG-89) of Champville - 24 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Geron Johnson (190-G-92) of Louaize - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Ahmad Ismail (205-F/C-76) of Al Riyadi - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Omar Thomas (196-F-82) of Hoops - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Robert Upshaw (213-C-94) of Mayrouba - 15 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Dewayne Jackson (203-F-90) of Homenetmen - 27 points and 4 rebounds
10. Travis McKie (201-SF-92) of Louaize - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Homenetmen lift LBL title - 8 days ago
Homenetmen - Al Riyadi 74-59 Homenetmen celebrated LBL title. They rallied past Al Riyadi in the decisive seventh game of the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Homenetmen. Al Riyadi managed to win fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Al Riyadi 47-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) who helped...   [read more]
