Antwain
Barbour
Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi (TBL) added to their roster 31-year old Lebanese ex-international swingman Antwain Barbour (196-88kg-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Barbour played last season at Victoria Libertas Pesaro in Italian SerieA. In 30 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.1ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.3apg and 1.8spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention and was invited to participate in the All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest.
The previous (11-12) season he played at Cibona (A1) in Croatian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and Barbour was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 15 A1 games he averaged 10.3ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg. He helped them to win the league title. Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Croatian A1 League All-Imports Team and to the All-Star Game. Barbour also played 2 games in Euroleague where he averaged 10.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.0spg. He also played 5 games in Eurocup where he averaged 9.4ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.2apg. And finally Barbour played 24 games in Adriatic League where he averaged 12.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1spg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Adriatic League All-Imports Team and Honorable Mention.
In 2010-11 season he played at Erdemirspor Eregli. In 30 games he averaged remarkable 17.2ppg, 4.1rpg and 2.6apg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Honorable Mention. Barbour was a member of Lebanese Senior National Team in 2009.
He is quite experienced player. Barbour has played also professionally in Spain (Tenerife, La Palma and Lagun Aro Gipuzkoa BC), Venezuela (Guaros), CBA (Yakama S.) and ABA (Kentucky C.).
He attended University of Kentucky until 2004 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
On Barbour: Was only a role player at his college times, but flourished as an outstanding pro in Europe. Has great athletic skills that make him superb on the open court and in fast breaks and also very effective at the defensive side. Doesn' t shot so well from outside, but he's improving this part of the game, and he's yet a very good scorer driving to the basket.

Norvel Pelle
Norvel Pelle selected the top Lebanese playing abroad in last week's games - 1 day ago
Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Lebaneses who are currently playing abroad. This week's number one is an international forward Norvel Pelle (208-93). He could not help Openjobmetis VA (4-11) in their last game. Despite Pelle's good performance Openjobmetis VA was edged 92-89 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#5) Fiat TO.    [read more]

38-year old forward Fadi El Khatib (198-F-79) had a very impressive game in the last round for Champville and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15. He had a double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Moutahed (#6, 8-7) 73-78. Champville maintains the 3rd position in Lebanese league. Pepsi LBL Round 15: Champville loses to Al Moutahed - 5 days ago
The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The game between third ranked Champville (11-4) and sixth ranked Al Moutahed (8-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Champville was defeated by Al Moutahed in a tough game in Tripoli 73-78. It was a good game for American guard Demarius B...   [read more]
