DeJuan
Collins
Krasnie Krilya Samara (PBL) added to their roster 37-year old American guard DeJuan Collins (188-85kg-76, college: Tuskegee). He was tested at Al Riyadi in Lebanese Division A, but was not approved after all. The last season Collins played at Zalgiris (LKL) in Lithuanian league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 16 LKL games he recorded 5.1ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg. Collins also played 12 games in Euroleague where he averaged 6.3ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.5apg. He also played 2 games in Baltic League where he averaged 5.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.0apg. And finally Collins played 15 games in VTB United League where he averaged 3.5ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.7apg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Honorable Mention in 2011.
Collins is quite experienced player. He has played also in Germany (ALBA Berlin, Brose Baskets Bamberg and Walter Tigers), Greece (Aris and Kavala), Italy (Cimberio Varese), Spain (Cajasol) and Russia (Lokomotiv).
Collins attended Tuskegee University until 1999 and it is his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: DeJuan is a big strong physical guard, who is able to score off the penetration as well as his perimeter shooting. With a strong powerful first step and his quickness, he is very difficult to defend. He is a fierce competitor, who backs down from nobody, as he has been known to dunk over 7'0' players. He is also a very physical defender, as his athleticism allows him to shut down players. He is capable of playing the point guard and shooting guard position.
DeJuan is a very outgoing person, who loves to compete and win. He makes his off-season home in Baton Rogue, Louisiana

Lebanese Pepsi LBL round 1 best performance: John Bohannon - 2 days ago

American Center John Bohannon (210-C-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Mayrouba, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Sagesse (#10, 0-1) with 16-point margin 85-69. Thanks to this victory Mayrouba moved-up to the 6th position in Lebanese Pepsi LBL. Mayrouba is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle...   [read more]

Pepsi LBL Round 1 of Regular Season - 3 days ago

The Regular Season in Pepsi LBL just started. The most important game of round 1 took place in Dik El Mehdi where Champville beat Al Riyadi (0-1) 83-70 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Champville. Al Riyadi managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Champville especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, coll...   [read more]
