Santa Barbara Breakers-Al Riyadi 79:88

Al Riyadi posted the second straight win at the Groningen Basketball Week in Holland. The Lebanese team overcame Santa Barbara Breakers to win the group with 2-0 record.
Al Riyadi started the game with 15-13 and posted massive 25-11 surge in the second period. The American team was too far to give up and replied with 27-19 burst in the third period and reduced to 8 points after 30 minutes. Al Riyadi however needed a narrow 29-28 rally to seal the victory.
Ahmad Ibrahim (202-G/F-92, college: Rice) top-scored for the winners with 17 points, while Ismail Ahmad Abdelmonaim notched 13. Amir Saoud (188-G-91) delivered 12, whilst Jean Abdel Nour and Anderson had 9 each. Chase Charles-Thomas Adams ended up with 20 points in defeat and Perrin Rudolphus Johnson as well as Derrick O'Neil (196-F-87, college: Florida Gulf Coast) brought 14 each. Hondre Rene Hondre Brewer (213-C-80, college: USF) delivered 10 points in the losing effort.

Geron Johnson(190-G-92, college: Memphis) will strengthen the roster of Lebanon National Team for the upcoming WABA Championship. Geron Johnson played in the Lebanese League this season. He tallied 22.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in Louaize. Later the guard moved to Obregon in Mexico.
