Champville claimed the first trophy of the new season. They outgunned Anibal Zahle for the SuperCup title. Fadi Khatib (199-F-79) stepped up with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge.
Champville started strong. They accumulated a 28:19 lead after ten minutes. The gap grew deeper in the second quarter. Champville accounted for a 54:36 halftime advantage. Champville took over completely in the third quarter. The Lebanese defending champions secured a massive 86:55 advantage with one quarter remaining. But Anibal did not surrender exploding with 28 points in the fourth term. They cut the deficit but came up way short of victory at the end. Khalil Aoun (195-F-90) netted 18 points, while Reyshawn Terry (203-F-84, college: N.Carolina) posted 15 points for Champville. Joey Accaoui (172-PG, college: Vermont) answered with 18 points for Anibal. Bachir Saad (198-F-91) banked 15 points and 6 boards in the loss.

American Center John Bohannon (210-C-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Mayrouba, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. The 25-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Sagesse (#10, 0-1) with 16-point margin 85-69. The Regular Season in Pepsi LBL just started. The most important game of round 1 took place in Dik El Mehdi where Champville beat Al Riyadi (0-1) 83-70 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Champville. Al Riyadi managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
