Prior to the first phase of the season preparations, AL Riyadi Club ended their Skills Development Camp of young prospects who will have a big impact on the club's future.
Camp was lead by Coach Jade Fattouh and Coach Ahmad Farran and lasted for 5 weeks before ending it in two friendly games during festivals in Shhim and Mazboud.
Training sessions focused on improving individual skills and preparing those talents for the big responsibility they will have soon when representing the first team as well as the youth national teams.
Team stopped training now, players Wael Arakji, Karim Tbaja and Jimy Salem will continue their preparations with the U18 national team while veterans started practicing with the senior national team.
Al Riyadi senior team will start their official season preparations on August 15th with an altitude camp in the Lebanese city "Bologna" under Coach Slobodan Subotic and both Coaches Jade Fattouh and Farran.
Club will be under big pressure since players from both national teams won't be able to join till few days prior to the Asian Clubs Championships which will limit their roster to less than 8 players.
Ismail Ahmad and Loren Woods will rejoin the team this season leading same Lebanese roster in addition to Forward Ahmad Ibrahim and Guards Miguel Martinez and Ralf Akl to defend the Asian title before trying to regain their Lebanese League Championship that they lost due to the withdrew in semi-finals of last year.

Dubai International Tournament: AS Sale Stun Riyadi To Claim Gold - 19 hours ago
After a wonderful performance in the semis for both Riyadi and AS Sala, the final matchup never looked better. Riyadi started the game a bit shaky, turning the ball over easily. Overconfidence might have played a role in this bad start. Sala were very focused and always found the open man to lead 11-3 after 4 minutes. Riyadi soon found their touch with Alade Aminu (210-F/C-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) and Haidar pairing up on couple of occasions. Yet they were stil...   [read more]

Dubai International Tournament: Heroic Sagesse Comeback Not Enough As Riyadi Reach Final - 1 day ago
Riyadi took on Sagesse in the first semi-final of Dubai International Tournament as both have the final in sight. Sagesse started the game off well. Defensively they were switching on the picks, double teaming Alade Aminu (210-F/C-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) under the basket, closing up spaces very well and running quickly on the fast break. Terrell Stoglin (185-G-91, college: Maryland) was the man, as he often is, blowing past Brown on many occasions. 10 points f...   [read more]

Dubai International Tournament: Homenetmen Edge Sagesse To Go Third - 2 days ago
Homenetmen took on Sagesse as they both eye 3rd spot so they could avoid Riyadi in the semis. Homenetmen started the game off well, taking a 17-8 lead as Sagesse found troubles in finding their way to the bucket. Michael Taylor(186-G-86, college: Iowa St.) changed the tempo of the game, cutting through Sagesse's defense as a knife through butter. The greens slow transition was obviously causing them trouble. Taylor and co were running like they never did before. The introduction of Nadim...   [read more]
