After 13 Lebanese League titles (10 consecutive), 11 Cup Titles, 2 Arab Championship and 1 WABA Championship rumors are mentioning that the partnership between Antranik Club and the women's team captain Chada Nasr will come to an end. The word on the street is that a deal will be sealed very soon moving Chada Nasr, Tamara Khalil ,Farah Harakeh and Coach Elie Nasr to Riyadi Club. Antranik dominance of the womens league broke all records, The core of the team build in 2002 consisted from Chada Nasr, Nayla Alameddine , Nisrine Dandan , then in the coming years Coach Chafic Akiki added many key players like Nathalie Mamo, Cherine Cherif ,Tamara Khalil and Christelle Chalouhi , these players together with the new joined players like Nour Choucair , Emma Esckidjian continued their dominance of the Lebanese Women League. After the departure of Coach Chafic AKIKI in 2006 the coaches that came had to do nothing because everything was set and especially in the past 3 to 4 years in which the level of the championship went down due to the absence of the Foreign players since 2006. All the results achieved by the team were the results of the hard work done from 2002 till 2006.
Antranik players were the core of the National Team for the past 12 years and all the coaches that took over Antranik team received big favor which was to take over the Lebanese National Team and this was due to the knowhow of Antraniks administration.
The decision of Chada Nasr to leave Antranik is obvious very hard for her, she spent 12 years of her life in this team and moving to another team for couple of years before retiring must be very annoying for her even though she was always expressing her big satisfactions and happiness in the Club. But for sure her decision was influenced by another party for well known reasons due to past experiences in other clubs.
By this move the Women's League will have a new identity , Antranik's first move was to sign Coach Vicekn Esckidjian as their new head coach. Riyadi by this move will be strong favorite to the title adding Chada Nasr, Tamara Khalil and Farah Harakeh. Homentmen Antelias will always be a strong contender to the League with its group of young and talented players.
The LBF is thinking to create an elite list of players for the Women's League like the one used in the Men's League to create more competition in the League.
