Shada leads Riyadi to triumph in Lebanese Womens League - May 24, 2013

Seasoned campaigner Shada Nasr played a pivotal role in leading Al Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut to triumph in the Lebanese Womens League beating Homentmen Antelias 3-1 in the Finals. Riyadi wrapped up the best-of-five titular contest with a 3-1 score.

Riyadi won 62-51 in Game 1 at the Mezher Stadium and followed it up with 83-73 win in front of their home crowd at the Manara.

Homentmen were to reduce the margin with a 71-58 in Game 3 when the series returned to Mezher, but their rally was thwarted with Riyadi romping home 68-48 in Game 4 at Manara.

With most of the rival defense revolving around guarding Nasr, young and upcoming guard Rebecca Akl (169-F-92) led Riyadis scoring with 18 points. Cherine El Sherif added 16 points with Nasr contributing a dozen points.

Nathalie Sevajian (170-G-88) 17 points led Homentmen and Sandra Nejim (165-G-88) had 14 points.

Al Riyadi Beirut wins Lebanese Cup. The team added another trophy after a 48:47 thrilling victory against Homenetmen Antelias. Chirine El Sherif paced all the winners with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Rebecca Akl (169-F-92) netted 14 points. Nathalie Sevajian (170-G-88) and Sandra Najem (165-G-88) were the most conspicuous players for Homenetmen.
