D1 Round 29: Al Arabi edges Al Nasar by three points - Mar 16, 2016

The most exciting game of round 29 in the D1 took place in An Nasr. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Al Nasar (10-11) to fourth ranked Al Arabi (14-8) 69-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Nasar. Al Arabi maintains fourth place with 14-8 record. Al Nasar at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Al Arabi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kuwait City to the arena Kazma.
Undefeated leader Al Qadsia delivered the nineteenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Al Sahel (10-13) 86-68 in Abu Halifa. Undefeated Al Qadsia (19-0) have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 19 victories in a row. Al Sahel at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Al Qadsia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kuwait City to the arena .
The game with biggest result difference took place in Kuwait City. Local Al Kuwait (19-1) outscored 10th ranked Al Tadhamon (2-20) 111-62 on Sunday night. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al Kuwait. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-1 record having just one point less than leader Al Qadsia. Al Tadhamon lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 20 games lost. Al Kuwait will meet at home Al Sahel (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Al Tadhamon will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 29 Al Shabab was defeated by Al Yarmook in Yarmouk 74-62.

Al Yarmook - Al Shabab 74-62

Everything could happen in Yarmouk at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Al Yarmook and 8th ranked Al Shabab had identical 6-15 record. This time Al Yarmook used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Al Ahmadi 74-62 on Sunday night. Al Yarmook (7-15) moved-up to eighth place. Loser Al Shabab dropped to the ninth position with 16 games lost. Al Yarmook will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Shabab will play against Al Jahraa (#5) and hope to secure a win.

Kuwait SC win 2016-2017 League title - 2 months ago
The Kuwait SC on Wednesday won its 9th title of the Kuwaiti Basketball League, 2016-2017, beating Kazma SC 81-61. The Kuwait players offered strong performance and realized a well-deserved win, raising the team's points to 19, and seized awarded the title of the 54th edition of the league.
