D1 Round 28: Al Qadsia keeps a leadership position - Mar 11, 2016

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Qadsia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Qadsia smashed bottom-ranked Al Sulaibikhat in Kuwait City 77-27. Undefeated Al Qadsia (18-0) have an impressive 17-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Al Sulaibikhat at the other side still closes the standings. Al Sulaibikhat will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Al Qadsia will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Al Sahel in Abu Halifa.
Important game to mention about took place in Kuwait City. Ninth ranked Al Yarmook (6-15) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Al Arabi (13-8) 75-74 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Al Arabi. Al Yarmook moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Al Shabab. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Al Yarmook will play against Al Shabab (#8) in Al Ahmadi in the next round. Al Arabi will play on the road against Al Nasar (#6) in An Nasr and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 28 Kazma beat Al Tadhamon on the road 73-63. Al Jahraa lost to Al Sahel on its own court 62-71.

Al Tadhamon - Kazma 63-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kazma (17-4) beat 10th ranked Al Tadhamon (2-19) in Al Farwaniya 73-63. Kazma maintains third position with 17-4 record behind leader Al Qadsia. Al Tadhamon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 19 games lost. Kazma will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Tadhamon will play on the road against the league's second-placed Al Kuwait (#2) in Kuwait City and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Al Arabi - Al Yarmook 74-75

Al Jahraa - Al Sahel 62-71

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Al Jahraa (13-9) lost at home to seventh ranked Al Sahel (10-12) 71-62. Al Sahel maintains seventh position with 10-12 record. Al Jahraa at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Al Sahel will play against league's leader Al Qadsia in Kuwait City in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Al Jahraa will have a break next round.

Eighth-ranked Al Sahel (2-8) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Al Nasar (6-4) in An Nasr on Monday. Al Nasar managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. D1 top team - Kazma (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al Tadhamon (2-8) in Kuwait City 80-40. Kazma have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Al Tadhamon lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with eight games lost. The game in Abu Halifa was also worth to mention about.
