D1 Round 23: Al Sulaibikhat still unable to win any game - Feb 23, 2016

The round 23 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results.

Bottom-ranked Al Sulaibikhat (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-53 loss to fifth ranked Al Jahraa (11-7) in Al Jahraa on Wednesday evening. Al Jahraa moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Arabi. Al Sulaibikhat at the other side still closes the standings. Al Jahraa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Sulaibikhat will play at home against Al Sahel (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Al Jahraa was also worth to mention about. Leader Al Qadsia (15-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Al Jahraa (11-7). Al Qadsia defeated Al Jahraa 59-48. Undefeated Al Qadsia have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Kuwait. Al Jahraa at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Al Arabi. Al Qadsia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kuwait City to the arena Al Kuwait.

Other games of round 23 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Al Shabab was defeated by Kazma in Kuwait City 68-54. Al Nasar beat Al Tadhamon at home 72-64. Al Yarmook lost to undefeated Al Qadsia on the opponent's court 56-76.

Kazma - Al Shabab 68-54

There was no surprise in Kuwait City where 8th ranked Al Shabab (5-13) was defeated by second ranked Kazma (15-2) 68-54. Kazma have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Despite that victory Kazma went down to third position due to points difference. Al Shabab lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. Kazma's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kuwait City Al Kuwait.

Al Jahraa - Al Sulaibikhat 73-53

No shocking result in a game in An Nasr where seventh ranked Al Nasar (8-10) defeated 10th ranked Al Tadhamon (2-16) 72-64. Al Nasar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Al Sahel. Al Tadhamon at the other side keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Al Nasar will play against Al Yarmook (#9) in Yarmouk in the next round. Al Tadhamon will have a break next round.

Al Qadsia - Al Yarmook 76-56

Very expected game in Kuwait City where 9th ranked Al Yarmook (4-13) was rolled over by leader Al Qadsia (15-0) 76-56. Al Qadsia have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Kuwait. Al Yarmook lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 13 games lost. Kuwait SC win 2016-2017 League title - 6 months ago
The Kuwait SC on Wednesday won its 9th title of the Kuwaiti Basketball League, 2016-2017, beating Kazma SC 81-61. The Kuwait players offered strong performance and realized a well-deserved win, raising the team's points to 19, and seized awarded the title of the 54th edition of the league. Eighth-ranked Al Sahel (2-8) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Al Nasar (6-4) in An Nasr on Monday. Al Nasar managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game.
