The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kuwait City: Kazma (#5) and Al Arabi (#6). Kazma (4-1) won against visiting Al Arabi (3-3) 66-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Arabi. Kazma moved-up to second place. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Al Yarmook. Kazma will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Arabi will play at home against Al Salmiyah (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kuwait City. Top-ranked Al Kuwait faced 4th ranked Al Sahel. Host Al Kuwait (5-0) defeated guests from Abu Halifa (3-2) 80-72. Undefeated Al Kuwait have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Al Sahel at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Al Sulaibikhat can celebrate finally their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Al Jahraa (1-3) 81-76 on Friday. Al Sulaibikhat left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Al Jahraa. Al Sulaibikhat will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Jahraa will play against Al Qadsia (#4) in Kuwait City.
Bottom-ranked Al Shabab (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 75-66 loss to seventh ranked Al Yarmook (3-3) in Al Ahmadi. Al Yarmook moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Al Arabi. Al Shabab at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost.
