AlKuwait SC and Kazma win the Semifinal openers over their opponents. AlKuwait SC overcame AlQadsia 74:71. They trailed 8 points at the halftime, but managed to take the lead in the second half and won the game. Kazma beat AlSahel 78:72 with 15-12 in the start of the game. The third period was decisive in the game as Kazma needed 28-18 to seal the victory.

Barako Bull from the Philippines had to settle for fourth place in the competition when Kuwaits Al Sahel secured an 84-76 win in the play-off match. Leading the charge for Al Sahel was topscorer Anthony Green with 32 points, well supported by Abdullah Al Shammaris 16 points. Al Sahel lost the Semifinal thriller at the Al Shabab Basketball Championship. Al Shabab has been put in Group A along with Hoops from Lebanon, Al Sahel from Kuwait and University of Sharjah (UOS). Group B consists of US-based Team Unity, Al Ahli from Libya, Barako Bull and Zamalek from Egypt. The event will see the eight teams divided into two groups with the best two advancing to the knockout quarterfinals on May 22.

In Day 3 Al Shabab overcame Al Sahel 99:85. Chauncey Leslie (183-G/F-81, college: Iowa) paced all the winners with 28 points Al Sahel secured the top spot in Group B beating Hoops 91:83. In the Quarterfinal games Al Sahel of Kuwait overcame Libyas Al Ahli 101:89. Abdullah Al Shammari was most effective for the Kuwaiti side with seven points apiece in the opening two quarters, while Anthony Green added 11. For the Libyan side, the consistent Craig Winder (188-G-84, college: Texas) was the only one in double digits. In the semi-final, Al Shabab posted a 94-87 win over Al Sahel of Kuwait as Rashid Al Zaabi top-scored with 24 points. Christopher Burgess helped the team at the end of the game with several treys.
The Slovenian Coach Gasper Okorn signs a contract to be a head coach of Kuwait SC for season 2013-2014 !!!
