There will be only one (last) round of the Second Stage in Higher League. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Tobol (14-4) in Kostanay on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Kapshagay (11-7) 103-97. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tobol. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Kapshagay made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Daniil Seleznev (187-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international swingman Konstantin Dvirniy (192-88) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Kapshagay's coach Dmitri Korovnikov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Anton Bykov (200-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds for Tobol. Kapshagay have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-7 record having just three points less than leader Bars. Tobol at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Kapshagay are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kaspiy-2 (#10) in Aktau in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tobol will play at home against Almat.Legion (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Tobol will play against Almat.Legion (#3) in Alma-Ata in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kazygurt will play on the road against Almat.Legion in Alma-Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Loser Kapshagay keeps the second position with seven games lost. Kazygurt will meet at home league's leader Tobol in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kapshagay will play against Kaspiy-2 and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game for Tobol (14-4) which played road game in Alma-Ata against 3rd placed Almat.Legion (7-11). First ranked Tobol managed to get a 9-point victory 80-71. Anton Bykov fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Tobol's coach Aleksandr Derbush allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tobol maintains first place with 14-4 record. Almat.Legion at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Tobol's next round opponent will be Kazygurt (#4) in Shymkent. Almat.Legion will play again on the road against the league's leader Tobol in Kostanay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Tobol had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists.
