There are only two more rounds left in the Second Stage in Higher League.

The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest Barsy-2's (#6) road victory over Okzetpes (#7) 82-77 on Sunday evening. Barsy-2 made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Okzetpes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international center Askar Maidekin (205-97) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 25 rebounds. point guard Ilyas Zhunussov (175-98) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. Barsy-2's coach Boris Pete used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Roman Mineev (177-98) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds. Barsy-2 maintains sixth position with 10-5 record. Okzetpes at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Kapshagay. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Seventh-ranked Okzetpes (9-6) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Bars (14-1) in Petropavlovsk. Bars managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for Russian point guard Valentin Kirilin (180-97) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Rustam Galimov contributed with 17 points for the winners. Bars' coach Pavel Antonenko allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Vladimir Ivanov (205-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for Okzetpes. Bars have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 14-1 record. Okzetpes at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. A very close game took place in Kokshetau between Okzetpes and Tigers Ast.. Seventh ranked Okzetpes (9-6) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Tigers Ast. (8-7). Okzetpes managed to escape with a 3-point win 75-72 on Thursday evening. Roman Mineev had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Okzetpes' coach Vladimir Vasiliev used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Erzhan Nurbaev with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Okzetpes moved-up to second place, which they share with Kapshagay. Loser Tigers Ast. keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Okzetpes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigers Ast. will play against Almat.Legion (#3) in Alma-Ata and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 6 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Barsy-2 was defeated by Bars in Petropavlovsk 79-65. Irtysh was smashed by Okzetpes at home 38-60. Bars destroyed Tigers Ast. on the opponent's court 87-60. Irtysh managed to outperform Tigers Ast. in a home game 72-65. Winless Kaspiy-2 was rolled over Barsy-2 on the road 108-77. Winless Kaspiy-2 was crushed by Okzetpes on its own court 44-103. Barsy-2 was beaten by Tigers Ast. in Astana 76-72. Bars destroyed Irtysh at home 86-57. Bars outscored Kaspiy-2 on the opponent's court 92-71. Irtysh recorded a loss to Barsy-2 in a home game 64-70.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Barsy-2's (10-5) road loss to fifth ranked Bars (14-1) 65-79 on Monday. Bars forced 20 Barsy-2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was Russian point guard Valentin Kirilin (180-97) who scored 15 points and 5 assists. Forward Roman Dedov (193-99) chipped in 17 points. Four Bars players scored in double figures.
