An exciting game was played in Kostanay. Tobol faced Almat.Legion. Host Tobol (5-1) smashed guests from Alma-Ata (3-3) 93-64. Tobol dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Almat.Legion's 36. Tobol forced 25 Almat.Legion turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Almat.Legion's players. The best player for the winners was forward Vasiliy Petrashinets (198-89) who scored 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (on 18-of-21 shooting from the field). Swingman Maksim Voeykov (195-85) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Vsevolod Fadeikin (206-85) who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Astana went on an 18-8 surge from the start of the game and never looked behind after.
