The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Almat.Legion as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Almat.Legion defeated 4th placed Kazygurt in Alma-Ata 106-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kazygurt. Almat.Legion dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kazygurt's 32. They outrebounded Kazygurt 59-42 including 19 on the offensive glass. Almat.Legion looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Yuriy Kozhanov (190-90) who scored 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center Vsevolod Fadeikin (206-85) chipped in 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Ulykbek Polatov (189-98) who recorded 32 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Almat.Legion (7-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Tobol and Kapshagay. Kazygurt at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Bars. Kazygurt will play next round against strong Kapshagay trying to get back on the winning streak. Almat.Legion will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Barsy-2 in Atyrau.
Bottom-ranked Kaspiy-2 (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 107-35 loss to sixth ranked Barsy-2 (4-4) in Atyrau. It was a good game for international center Askar Maidekin (205-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Bogdan Lachsh contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Bogdan Ivanchikin (175-0) answered with 14 points for Kaspiy-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Barsy-2 maintains sixth place with 4-4 record. Kaspiy-2 lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Barsy-2 will play against league's leader Almat.Legion in Alma-Ata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kaspiy-2 will have a break next round.
The game in Kokshetau supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Tobol (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Okzetpes (2-6). Tobol did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-60 on Thursday. Anton Bykov stepped up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. The best for the losing side was Vladimir Ivanov with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tobol. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Almat.Legion and Kapshagay. Okzetpes lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth place with six games lost. Tobol will meet Bars (#5) in the next round. Okzetpes will play against Irtysh in Pavlodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Astana supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Bars (5-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Tigers Ast. (3-6). Bars smashed Tigers Ast. 78-49. Aleksandr Antropov nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Bars' coach Pavel Antonenko felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bars. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kazygurt. Tigers Ast. at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Bars' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Tobol in Kostanay and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Okzetpes - Tobol 60-80

The game in Kokshetau supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Tobol (7-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Okzetpes (2-6). Tobol did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 80-60 on Thursday. Tobol forced 30 Okzetpes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Okzetpes' players. Forward Anton Bykov (200-89) stepped up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and forward Farid Karimullin (193-87) chipped in 8 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was center Vladimir Ivanov (203-94) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and forward Samat Karbayev (194-89) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tobol. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Almat.Legion and Kapshagay. Okzetpes lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth place with six games lost.
