The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Kapshagay as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kapshagay smashed bottom-ranked Kaspiy-2 at home 77-38. Kapshagay held Kaspiy-2 to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Kapshagay forced 20 Kaspiy-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 54-34 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Point guard Daniil Seleznev (186-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Forward Vyacheslav Raguyev (195-93) contributed with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Danil Davletbaev (185-99) replied with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Kaspiy-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Kaspiy-2 at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Kaspiy-2 will play next round against Barsy-2 trying to get back on the winning streak. Kapshagay will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: Okzetpes was beaten by Bars on the road 74-58. Kazygurt won against Barsy-2 on its own court 82-65. Tigers Ast. managed to outperform Irtysh in Astana 74-64.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 19 points by Kirill Nikulochkin of Kazygurt.

Bars - Okzetpes 74-58

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Bars (4-3) beat 7th ranked Okzetpes (2-5) in Petropavlovsk 74-58 on Wednesday. Bars looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Vladimir Voeykov (184-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rustam Galimov (189-85) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Bars players scored in double figures. Center Vladimir Ivanov (203-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and forward Samat Karbayev (194-89) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Okzetpes. Bars maintains fifth position with 4-3 record. Okzetpes at the other side dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. Bars are looking forward to face Tigers Ast. (#7) in Astana in the next round. Okzetpes will play at home against the league's second-placed Tobol and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Barsy-2 (3-4) lost to fourth ranked Kazygurt (5-2) in Shymkent 65-82 on Wednesday. Kazygurt dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Barsy-2's 24. Kazygurt forced 24 Barsy-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Viktor Sotov (173-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Forward Zhandos Kaliyev (197-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. Point guard Ilyas Zhunussov (175-98) replied with 14 points and 7 assists and point guard Adilhan Marat (183-99) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Barsy-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kazygurt maintains fourth position with 5-2 record. Loser Barsy-2 keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Kazygurt are looking forward to face higher ranked Almat.Legion (#3) in Alma-Ata in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Barsy-2 will play at home against Kaspiy-2 and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
