Greek Leonidas Kaselakis (202-SF-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Astana and that's him to receive a Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 26-year old had the game-high 20 points adding eight rebounds and seven assists for Astana in his team's victory, helping them to beat Barsy Atyrau (#2, 2-4) 79-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Astana to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan D1. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Astana still have not lost a single game, getting all 8 victories. In the team's last game Kaselakis had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Astana's top player in his first season with the team. Leonidas Kaselakis averages just after three games 15.0ppg, 7.7rpg and 5.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Astana's star - 30-year old former international forward Dmitriy Gavrilov (203-F-86). Gavrilov impressed basketball fans with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Astana cruised to a 82-75 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Barsy Atyrau (#2, 2-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Astana consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. He plays for the best team in the league and Astana managed to win all 8 games keeping a perfect record. Gavrilov is a newcomer at Astana and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 10.7ppg (#8). He also registered 5.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Astana's star - former international forward Dmitriy Gavrilov (203-F-86). Gavrilov scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was another key player of Astana, helping his team with a 79-68 win against #2 ranked Barsy Atyrau. Astana have amazing season winning all 8 games without a single defeat. Gavrilov turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Gavrilov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 10.7ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 5.6rpg (4th best).

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The biggest surprise of round 21 was guest Barsy 2's (10-11) easy road victory over 5th ranked Bars (9-12) 75-51 on Tuesday evening. The most important game in the last round took place in Kokshetay between second ranked Kazygurt (14-6) and fourth ranked Okzetpes (11-9) on Monday night.
